The Ben Yorgey Foundation is passionately dedicated to honoring the legacy of Ben Yorgey and generating funds for graduating high school students with special needs across the Lehigh Valley. Ben was driven by an ultimate purpose -- to share his gift of love, and we are all changed people because of it. And through this change, Ben Yorgey Foundation exists to make a positive impact, an impact Ben would be proud of. Never meet a stranger. There is no such thing. Love everyone.

The Ben Yorgey Foundation, which is 501C3, was established in order to raise money to support our goals. The annual vehicle for raising resources is THE BEN EVENT. The event is held in July of each year - Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21 this year - at Macungie Memorial Park.
Activities for The Ben Event include a "Friday Night Kick-Off," a 5K race, the 1-mile Fun Walk, Breakfast In The Park, Ben's Block Party, sports events for athletes with special needs, a “Wheels of Time” Cruise Night, Chinese Auction ... AND LOTS MORE!
For those of you who don't run 5K's, The Ben Event 1-Mile Fun Walk is for you!! The Fun Walk incorporates 3 things that Ben loved... taking walks around his hometown of Macungie, t-shirts and sharing memories! The Fun Walk will be approximately 1 mile beginning at Ben's Tree (near the Walnut Street entrance to the Park). From there we will walk to Kalmbach Park head up past the Macungie Institute and end at Macungie Pool. This year we’ve added something new to the Fun Walk called “Where’s Ben?”. Those wanting to participate will receive a card at the start of the walk, from that point you will look for pictures of Ben placed at various spots along the walk. Those who are able to locate all the spots will enter their card in a drawing at the end of the Walk for a chance to win 1 of 2 $25 Wawa gift cards.
Like last year, you can buy a "T" for Ben's Memory Tree. Donations of any amount will be accepted in exchange for a Memory "T". On this "T" you will have an opportunity to write a memory for a loved one, or for Ben, and hang it on the Ben's Tree and Trellis. All donations benefit the Ben Yorgey Foundation.
We are looking for your support to make The Ben Event a success. Volunteer, participation, donation and sponsorship opportunities are available. Your support will enable the Ben Yorgey Foundation to help the lives of local graduating seniors with special needs.
