Tarah Godusky is Newest Alburtis Fire Police Member

She’s eager to do more calls and help more people.

 

Name:  Tarah Godusky

Age:  24

Hometown:  Macungie

Family:  Tarah lives with her parents, Nancy and Barry Godusky.

Occupation:  She currently is employed at Knoll’s in East Greenville in the data entry department.

Fire Company:  She has volunteered at the Alburtis Fire Company for the past five years.

Training:  “I have all kinds of training.  I have all the basics plus firefighter 1 and hazmat. I just completed the basic course for fire police.”

Describe your job with the fire company. “I am a firefighter and now am able to go out on calls that only need the fire police.  Now I can do more with the department.”

How do your loved ones feel about you putting your life in danger?  “They are very supportive.  My grandfather was a member of the Emmaus Fire Police several years ago. He was there for about 10-15 years and enjoyed it.”

Tell us a story you'll never forget about your firefighting experience.  “I don’t have any stories to tell yet.  I actually hope to move closer to the fire company and then I will be able to go on even more calls, with the possibility of some stories to tell.”

What would you tell people interested in joining your fire company?  “There is no reason not to join. There is something for everyone to do. There is plenty of training available, and everyone here is very helpful.”
