Alleged Armed Robber Caught After Brief Manhunt
Suspect allegedly held up Game Stop store on Cedar Crest Boulevard at gunpoint Saturday.
Police have a suspect in custody following an armed robbery at the Game Stop store on Cedar Crest Boulevard on Saturday afternoon. A brief manhunt ensued when the alleged robber fled the store on foot.
A timeline of events follows:
1:40 p.m. UPDATE: A state police helicopter has been called in to assist with the manhunt.
1:30 p.m. UPDATE: A man fitting the suspect's description was seen asking for a ride near Sturbridge Place off Cedar Crest Boulevard and Huckleberry Road. Police are now focusing their search on that neighborhood.
INITIAL REPORT: Around 1 p.m. Saturday, police began a manhunt for a suspect who allegedly robbed the Game Stop store on Cedar Crest Boulevard at gunpoint. Police are looking for a man described as 5'8" to 6' tall with a ponytail and a scruffy beard. He is reported to be wearing jean shorts or pants rolled up to his knees. K-9 units have been called in to help track the man, who is believed to have run across the street, possibly removing his shirt in the process.
