Describe your job with the women’s association and how you got involved: “I am the secretary of the women’s association.  I mostly take the minutes for the group, but I also do other things.  I help with the annual egg hunt at Easter and the Christmas party.  I help with fundraising for the firefighters and assist with the annual open house.”

Do you have family members involved with the fire department?  “My entire family is with the department:  My dad, Brent McNabb is the assistant chief.  My uncle, Jim Doherty, is the deputy chief.  My husband, Joe, is a captain.  And my brother, Gabe McNabb, is a captain.  Also, my grandfather, Allen McNabb was the fire chief at one time.”

How do you feel about your loved one putting his/her life in danger?  “I’m proud of all of them.  They do a great thing and love their job [as a firefighter].”

What would you tell people interested in joining the ladies auxiliary?  “We are looking for new and younger members.  It is a great way to get involved with the community.  Come and join us.  We meet the third Monday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Wescosville building.”
