Anonymous Donor Will Provide Macungie's Holiday Lights
Some generous soul has pledged the money to restore festive lighting to the borough during the holidays. Funds for the lights had been cut from the 2012 budget.
Monday night's Macungie Borough Council meeting was the setting for a little Christmas miracle.
In June.
Council Member Chris Becker read a note from the pastor of Grace Lutheran Church that said a member of the congregation wants to provide the borough with the money to restore holiday lights come December.
"All we need to do is to send the invoice to Grace Lutheran Church," Becker said, "And it will be taken care of."
Council took extreme measures to keep costs in line when they made up this year's budget that still resulted in a tax increase.
The line item that has traditionally provided the holiday treat was cut this year to keep the tax increase as small as possible.
Council Member Joseph Sikorski asked Becker to convey council's gratitude for the generous offer.

I couldn't agree more, Mrs. B. And, ok, I'm just naturally nosy, but I wonder who it was, don't you?
