Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

This date may take a little work, but it will be totally worth it. If you can pull this off you can make wishes all night long.

Girls love this stuff. She can wish, you can wish. It's all very romantic. Even more so if you're wishing for the same thing.

What's the most romantic date you've ever planned/been on? Tell us in the comments.

Here's what you do according to the experts at artofmanliness.com:

"During the summer months look online for days there are going to be meteor showers. Then late at night go pick up your date and bring her somewhere where there is little to no light pollution; a beach or park is usually a good place.

"Make sure to take a look at the weather because you want it to be a clear night. Try and get there before the shower is supposed to start. Bring along a blanket and lay out underneath the stars. It is important to know what area of the sky the shower will be in.

"Get a book from your local library and learn some of the constellations so while you’re waiting for the shower to start you can point them out to impress your date."

So you need to do a little bit of research. Actually, you can start here.

So get a bottle of wine -- hey, why not a whole picnic -- choose a nice spot on the right night.

This would also make a most memorable way to propose.

But even if you're not ready for that it will be a night she'll never forget.

Really?? You really think the average guy is going to do this? That's a lot of steps to follow!

Maybe not the average guy, Chandler, but it's not that much to do for somebody who's motivated. And like I said, girls love this stuff. I guess it would depend on how much the "asker" (man or woman) wants the "askee" to go out with him or her, right?

I am a woman and I think these 'date ideas' are sappy---or are you talking about teen age girls?

Not necessarily, Chandler. But I hear what you're saying. What's your idea of a good date?

Maybe dinner with friends in NYC, a play at DeSales Act 1, a cookout at a friends house. I am not a romantic, nor is my husband of 30 years---I would say we don't date anymore--nor did we 'date' much before we were married. I like the idea of meteor watching--I just don't think most men would put that much thought into it. And 32 years ago---if my then boyfriend would have suggested getting into bathing suits and washing the car, I probably would have gagged!

I hear you Chandler, but I think these dates are meant to inspire people to "think out of the box" more than anything else. The best date my husband and I had recently was a trip to the grocery store without the kids. We went first thing in the morning before the kids woke up (my MIL was visiting) and got a cup of coffee as soon as we entered the store. We sipped the coffee while we leisurely strolled down the aisles picking up what we needed. We might not be able to pull of meteor showers any time soon, but I think watching the fireflies on the back deck with a bottle of wine is possible.
