Dog's Nip Bites Owner's Wallet

Lower Macungie Township woman is cited when her pet chases and injures passing jogger, police say.

She wasn't the mailman, honest.

But, try telling that to a dog.

Beverly Siegfried of Macungie was just out for a jog at 2:30 p.m. July 21 when she caught the attention of a dog along Durham Drive in Lower Macungie Township, according to state police at Fogelsville. It must have been just her movement that caught the dog's fancy, just as some pooches like to chase cars and bicycles.

But, soon, the dog gave chase and was quickly on the heels of Siegfried -- quite literally. The dog left its property and bit the victim, resulting in unspecified minor injuries to Siegfried, police said.

Police were called. No pawprints were taken, but owner Barbara Boduszek felt a small bite out of her wallet in the form of a non-traffic citation for a dog law violation.
