Dog's Nose for Drugs Lands Macungie Man in Jail
Police canine sniffs out marijuana during investigation of domestic disturbance, report says.
Sammy, the Macungie police dog, has a nose for trouble that led to a recent arrest, according to borough police.
Police said they were called to a Vine Street residence at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 19 to investigate a domestic disturbance. Once there, police said Sammy was used to search the residence. The dog sniffed out an undisclosed amount of marijuana.
Police said they charged Mark Girodo, whom records show is 54 and lives at 980 Vine St., with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
In another Macungie incident, police said that one or more vandals damaged "One Way" signs overnight Feb. 15 at the entrance and exit of the parking lot at the Macungie Post Office, 51 West End Trail. No value was given for the damage.

@Rick....illegal is illegal. I, for one, appreciate the great job our police department does in keeping our Borough safe from law breakers! FYI, a great percentage of the K9 unit in our town is funded by donations. Keep up the great job Sammy!
