Driver Slightly Hurt Turning in Front of Pickup Truck, Police Say
Lower Macungie bypass is site of another injury accident, troopers report.
A Schuylkill County man was slightly hurt recently when he turned in front of a pickup truck on the Route 222 Bypass, according to police.
Douglas N. Martlock, 38, of Orwigsburg was traveling southbound on Route 222 at 1 p.m. Jan. 18, according to state police at Fogelsville. He was turning left onto Kressler Road but turned into the path of the pickup truck driven by Brian R. Supp, 40, of Schnecksville.
Supp could not avoid striking Martlock's Chevrolet Impala with his Chevrolet Silverado, police said. Both vehicles were disabled, requiring towing.
Supp was uninjured, but Martlock was transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries by Cetronia Ambulance Corps, police said.
Martlock was cited for making an improper turn in front of Supp, police said.
This arrest information was supplied by the Pennsylvania State Police at Fogelsville. It does not indicate a conviction.

The left turn lane at 222 and Kressler should go red, and not allow any additional left hand turns onto Kressler until the next cycle. That intersection is too large, and too many people take chances or underestimate how long it will take to get through the intersection. It should be designed like the light at 222 and Lincoln Ave where the left turn signal goes red once the light turns green for those going straight.
