Get Out: Five Things to Do This Weekend

Patch to the rescue! We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time.

 

1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

When/Where: 10 a.m. June 15-16 at the Schubert Theater at DeSales University in Center Valley.

Why Go: This is one of the children's selections offered each summer by the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.

Pricing: Adults, $16; Children, $12.

2. Lower Milford Twp. Fireman's Carnival

When/Where: 6 p.m. June 13-16 at the Lower Milford Twp. Fire Department in Coopersburg.

Why Go: Fireworks on Friday night, bands every night. And I hear they have a dunk tank. There's also a silent auction.

Pricing: Depends on how many ride tickets you buy!

3. Southside Film Festival

When/Where: Daily June 12-16 at several Bethlehem venues including Victory Firehouse, Sinclair Auditorium on the Lehigh University campus and Broughal Middle School.

Why Go: Dozens of independent films will be shown and enjoyed.

Pricing: Tickets start at $5 for some films.

4. Stahl's Pottery 25th Anniversary Gala

When/Where: 6-9 p.m. June 15 at Stahl's Pottery in Zionsville.

Why Go: Guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, a chocolate fountain and wine as they browse the 160-foot tent which houses the potters and their wares. Tours through the historic pottery and the Alice and Thomas Stahl House Museum Exhibit will be available as well.  In the Alice and Thomas Stahl House Museum, Brad and Deanne Hamilton will be displaying some spectacular pieces of Stahl’s pottery from their private collection.

The annual festival continues beginning at 9 a.m. June 16.

Pricing: $25.

5. St. Ann School Garage Sale

When/Where: 9 a.m. June 16 at St. Ann School in Emmaus

Why Go: Thousands of items including books, electronics, games, baskets, furniture and more. All proceeds benefit the school.

Pricing: Depends on what you buy!

St Joseph the worker church in Orefield is also having their yearly festival, food, games, and the big hall has been transformed into a giant garage sale. 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield.
Alburtis Park is also open this weekend. Hickory Rose will be there Saturday, Crazy Elmer and the Outlaws on Sunday. Admission is $3.00 for anyone over the age of 12. Bingo starts at noon until 8. Band starts at 3 pm. as a note I THINK the Jackpot in Bingo is over $300.00 for information you can call 610-965-2942
