Golden Corral Opens at Lehigh Valley Mall

The long-awaited Golden Corral has opened at Lehigh Valley Mall near Macy's

Lehigh Valley Mall announced the Golden Corral will open a new restaurant on Thursday, Jan. 10 across from Macy’s on the Route 22 side of the mall, in the former Chi Chi’s parking lot.

For nearly 40 years, Golden Corral has offered guests wholesome foods and a family friendly atmosphere at a great value. Best known for its legendary endless buffets, Golden Corral offers an abundant variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items. Familiar favorites include USDA grilled to order sirloin steaks, pot roast simmered for 12 hours, and custom, made-to-order breakfast omelettes.

“Lehigh Valley Mall is excited to have Golden Corral opening on our property,” said Amanda Johnson, director of mall marketing. “The highly-anticipated buffet and grill will help to expand the mall’s already-extensive variety of restaurant and dining options.”

Golden Corral joins Bonefish Grill, Bravo! Cucina Italiana, Dunderbak’s Market Cafe, Friendly’s and Red Lobster as part of Lehigh Valley Mall’s restaurant lineup.

Golden Corral is open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

If people who use the term "retard" are indicative of the standard clientele at a Golden Corral, I'll pass. Klassy.

Is this the quality of the former Golden Corral in Emmaus, when they first opened?

I am so confused about what has been written here. I have been to Golden Corral many times all over the country and find the food to be very good, especially for the price. It is not fine dining by no means. It is however good food in abundance for a very good and affordable price. I do not even think this is where you go for special occasions. This is a place you go anytime you have a huge appetite and a limited wallet. I wanted to eat in the place on saturday but the wait was over an hour. So I will attempt again today with my warmups on with sneakers because this is casual eating and not fine dining. I really cannot wait!

Lincoln..you go to GC for one reason...PRICE ! Price does not equate to quality.
Its belly fill...nothing more. Anytime a chain restaurant has a buffet offering you can bet they buy the cheapest stuff to serve the masses. I refer to this chain as the slop chute.

Ok I went to the Golden Corral Monday around 2 thinking the line would not be as bad for a new restaurant opening with a national name. I need to again start by saying I love eating at Golden Corral. Unfortunately I feel they opened this particular restaurant too quick and the staff is not prepared to supply good customer service and the cooking staff are preparing food not of the same quality Golden Corral is noted for. Again this is not supposed to be gourmet cooking. But it is supposed to be tasty, good, and far from slop, which is what I experienced Monday. All the veggies seemed over cooked, and many of the items seemed burnt around the edges. The fried chicken had an orange look to it and was decent but not what I was used to at Goldedn Corral. To top my experience off the place had garbage on the floor where I was eating for the entire 45 minutes I was there. Servers continued to just step over the food, and walk around the table in front of mine that had a plaate of food looking like scraps just sitting there. But here is the worst part. In this the flu season, I observed a employee continuously sneeze into his hands as he was redoing the coffee machine. Are you kidding me? Maybe things will be better in a few weeks but based on my experience I sure have lost my excitement over eating at this place. I am redoing my bog on restaurants and I will have pictures and more in it. It will be called LFBallonfood.blogspot.com More info email me at LFBall@aol.com

Folks ...I wouldn't steer you wrong...Golden Corral is a slop chute.
To Real Deal...I feel sorry for your wife or girlfriend if you take them to this Poison Palace. The space at the mall was zoned for a restaurant so new jobs were getting created anyway you imbicile.

Food sucked, place was dirty, poor service, waiter talking to each other instead of cleaning plates off table. Was called to table and that to wait for them to wipe it off. I won't recommand it. First and last time.

This place is horrible. Noticed food on the floor around many of the counters. Are they picking it up and putting it back in the container???? Go to the Country Buffet across the street. Its cheaper and you get the same items. I'll never go back again and will tell many people to not go there.

Golden Corral actually buys top quality food and hand cuts Choice steaks. When it's prepared to spec-it is really delicious. Sorry to hear this location has gotten off to a bad start.

Shelly,,,Preparing any recipe to specification is the challenge for any restaurant today. The issue at hand is LABOR. The influx of illegal immigrants have taken most of these jobs because they will accept meager wages pushing out more qualified cooks and chefs. The end result is LOUSY food.

its hard to get quality cheap, BK, MCDS, ARBYS, has $8-$9 value meals and a few hrs later your hungry. best & cheapest food is shop & cook it yourself, not everyone can eat in a pricey place like bonefish, melt, etc, red robin.

Golden Corral is a decent meal at a decent price. I don't usually eat there when I'm at home, but it is one of the places I prefer when travelling, mainly because you can get a large variety of fruits and vegetables, as opposed potatoes and grease laden appetizers with your entree. I'd nominate Ryan's as top in this category, but they aren't in Eastern PA (except as Old Country).

I remember Golden Corral when I was a teenager in HS (some 30+ years ago). They employed a lot of teenagers and I had friends that worked there. Even then it was a disgusting place. My parents would take the four of us there because it was so inexpensive and we had limited funds. I don't recall what the place was like when it came to food on the floor, etc. But the food was greasy, overcooked, veggies were soggy, and anything breaded had such a thick layer of breading that by the time you got to what you wanted, it was smaller than the breading!

I'm glad I have read these comments and won't go there. I was thinking, hey, maybe they've changed....doesn't sound like it to me. blech.

JC,...I am a thirty year veteran of the Foodservice industry . I have many friends who own Foodservice establishments as well. They all have the same issue ...LABOR.
I'm not degrading or insulting the immigrants that work at these establishments . . Many illegals are good hard working people. They do however work CHEAP. Restaurants are forced to hire these illegals so they can compete. The downside to this is that many are unqualified and the end result is inconsistent food preparation.
So please, next time you call someone ignorant look in the mirror first . I wont have to embarrass you again!

My husband and I went there when he had a day off for lunch. I was very underwhelmed. The dining room was dirty and the food was mediocre at best.We won't go there again. If I want to eat cheap, give me a good diner.
