Leg Cramp Causes Lower Mac Accident, Police Say
Macungie-area woman receives minor injuries from crash into utility police, troopers report.
A natural pain in her leg has led to a few headaches as well for a Macungie-area woman whose car recently crashed into a utility pole in Lower Macungie Township as a result, according to police.
Donna M. Kachurick, 51, was driving south on Willow Lane at 10:48 p.m. Feb. 6. As she approached Mulberry Lane, she felt a cramp in her right leg, according to state police at Fogelsville.
Her leg stiffened as a result, pushing down on the accelerator and causing her Pontiac Grand Am to speed up, police said. She next pulled the steering wheel to redirect the car, but she drove off the western berm of Willow Lane and into a utility pole with her right front bumper.
She was taken to a hospital by Macungie Ambulance Corps for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
Citations were issued for failing to maintain her lane and not wearing a seat belt, police said.
