Lehighton Man Was Injured in Rt. 100 Crash

Ensuing utility pole repair closed Alburtis Road for seven hours, police say.

For those who caught Tuesday's Tweet or wandered past Alburtis Road and Route 100 and saw flashing lights, the driver of the vehicle that crashed into a pole was a Lehighton-area man who received minor injuries, according to police.

Todd M. Kuhns, 44, was driving his pickup truck in front of 7394 Alburtis Road near the about 6:45 a.m. when it slid off the road and struck a utility pole, according to

 Alburtis Road was closed for about seven hours while the pole was replaced, police said. Radio transmissions from the scene said the vehicle could not be removed until the pole was taken down.

Kuhns was taken to by , police said. He also was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
