Built specifically as police vehicles, the Ford Police Interceptor has safety features civilian vehicles do not have, according to Ford's Interceptor website.

It includes ballistic door panels, a safety-cell structure, sensors that control the airbags and front safety belts, passenger head protection in the event of a rollover crash and it passes a 75-mph rear crash test.
