Police: Lower Mac Woman's PayPal Account is Hacked
Someone else's eBay purchases are paid using area woman's online account.
If you're a fan of eBay, you probably know the thrill of bidding on and winning a cherished collectible or a necessity at a great price, such as a pair of jeans.
You also likely have a PayPal account to expedite the arrival of that prized purchase.
Unfortunately, someone out there enjoyed this feeling at an even higher level because they paid for purchases at a Lower Macungie Township woman's expense -- literally, according to state police at Fogelsville.
Chelsea Reiss of Schoeneck Road reported to police on Aug. 31 that someone had obtained her PayPal information and was paying for eBay purchases with money from her account, police said. Police did not state a total amount for the transactions, but stated that items had been purchased. The incident is being investigated under the category of theft/fraud/forgery.
