Lower Macungie store has been site of some big-ticket thefts and attempts this summer.

Another contestant briefly entered the arena recently at Wal-Mart, but bowed out before completing the match.

Several police reports this summer have outlined thefts and attempted thefts of big-ticket items from the Lower Macungie Township store at 1091 Mill Creek Road. The latest? An unidentified shopper who walked out of the store with a television valued at $262.88.

This time, however, the shopper bailed out of the attempt, leaving the television set in the parking lot. No word of whether Loss Prevention employees had any impact on that decision, but it's a good bet.

According to state police at Fogelsville, someone took the television without paying at 11:30 p.m. Aug. 9 and left it in the parking lot. They escaped without being caught.
