Several Ancient Oaks residents report thefts from unlocked motor vehicles Jan. 24, troopers report.
One or more thieves recently concentrated their efforts on vehicles in a Lower Macungie Township neighborhood and apparently had a bit of success, police said.
According to state police at Fogelsville, those responsible checked for open vehicles and helped themselves to money found inside between 10 p.m. Jan. 23 and 8 a.m. Jan. 24. Five victims reported incidents to police.
Those reporting incidents were as follows:
-- Andrea Miller of Oak Drive;
-- Jon Gordon of Oak Drive;
-- Gerald Wojciechowski of Catalpa Drive;
-- Claude Wilson os Spring Creek Circle; and
-- Mamata Shah of Cedar Road.
State police have been warning township residents for some time to lock vehicles left outside because of reports of entry into unlocked vehicles, in particular. A few incidents of forced entry also have been reported. And, within the past two weeks, two instances of reported vehicle thefts have resulted from keys being left inside unlocked vehicles, police have said.
Anyone with information about any of the thefts from motor vehicles is asked to call police at 610-395-1438.
