Members of St Peter’s Union Church on Sunday served a complimentary breakfast to veterans, their families and the community in honor of Memorial Day.

Red, white and blue flags, wreaths, tablecloths, napkins and carnations adorned the room.

There were old uniforms and pictures lying on tables for all to see, along with maps carried by the Air Force. These maps were made of silk, so in the event the soldiers were shot down over water, the maps would still be intact and the soldier could find his location.

As attendees enjoyed the delicious meal of pancakes and sausage, Emmaus Patch asked what this holiday means to them
