Take Our Poll: Should Linn Walker Resign from Macungie Council?

Council Member Linn Walker said he would resign after he was cited for open lewdness Saturday, but has not.

Macungie Council member Linn Walker was recently issued a police citation for open lewdness for public urination after an incident that occurred Aug. 3.

The occurrence was witnessed by a Macungie Police officer and by Walker's neighbors, including at least one child.

After the incident, Walker told Patch that he would resign from council saying, "It's time to step down and get out of the spotlight."

However, Walker did not attend the Aug. 6 council meeting, nor has he submitted a letter of resignation.

Wednesday he said he will not comment further on the advice of his attorney, and so did not say if he has changed his mind, or if so, why.

In light of the circumstances, do you think Linn Walker should resign as he said he would?

He should be fired. Why give him the option to resign?

The Mayor issue is policy matter you agree with it or disagree... It's not the same. If the community doesnt like the mayor's policy they have a chance to voice opinion next election. He isn't running again, so Macungie will have a chance to start a clean slate. This is good. Now we just need someone (pref multiple people) to step up and run and serve.

I agree with Ron. Macungie residents really need to concentrate their energy campaigning individuals to run for council since 4 seats will be expiring next year. They should be letting people know what to do if they're interested. If these 4 seats can be filled with indiviudals that have never been on council before this town can turn around. The silent players, sort of speak, won't have major control anymore. What a good feeling that would be for the entire community. This is the time to make a difference.

I just thought of something. Walker has said many times at council meetings that there is no crime in Macungie therefore no need for 24/7 police protection. I guess he proved himself wrong!!! If he wants to keep on saying that then I guess he should keep his pants zipped in public!!!!

Retire or be removed. Relieving yourself, repeatedly, on your neighbor's porch, you are disgusting. I wish I was that neighbor. After video taping your behavior I would let my dog out, you'd learn a serious lesson about trespassing.

What he needs is some kind of good, supportive psychotherapy. That's not sarcasm. He hurts inside - badly!
