Trexlertown Lesson Center Offers Scholarships
The Lesson Center is holding an essay contest for a free year of music classes and 3 three-month scholarships.
The Lesson Center, with a location in Trexlertown, is offering six scholarships to students who are passionate about learning music. Three scholarships for a free year of music classes and three scholarships for three months of free music classes will be awarded this April.
An essay contest will be conducted to decide the winners of each scholarship. Students, ages 6-16, must submit an essay of no more than 500 words describing their passion for music and why they think The Lesson Center would be the right home to further explore their musical interests.
The Lesson Center will be awarding a year of completely free music lessons and a 3-month scholarship at each of their three Lehigh Valley locations. This contest will be open to both existing students and the general public.
“Over the last eight years, we’ve had the great privilege of watching amazingly talented kids explore their interest in music. At the same time, we realize there are many more who have been unable to do the same because of financial difficulties,” said Managing Director Lori Donovan Roberts. “Being able to offer these scholarships is a true culmination of our work here. And, we hope to continue the program and grow it each year.”
The deadline for entering will be April 15 and the winners will be announced at a special concert conducted by the staff of The Lesson Center at the Musikfest Café at SteelStacks on Saturday, April 21.
