Trick or Treat Schedule for Macungie, Alburtis and Lower Macungie

Find your Trick or Treat times here.

Storm-related darkness will not interfere with Trick-or-Treat times in the boroughs of Macungie and Alburtis.

Macungie and Alburtis will hold the annual ritual 6-8 p.m. tonight.

Macungie Mayor Rick Hoffman signed an emergency disaster declaration for the Borough of Macungie on Monday.

Macungie Council President Jean Nagle made the decision Wednesday not to postpone Trick-or-Treat in Macungie.

Lower Macungie Township has changed the time of its Trick-or-Treat to 3-6 p.m. Saturday.

Lower Mac released the following statement:

"Due to reports that power could be out until Sunday, the Trick-or-Treat hours were scheduled during the day for safety reasons. If your children are Trick-or-Treating without an adult, please remind them to be careful when it starts to get dark. Have fun and be safe!

Last weekend an Upper Macungie boy was killed when he was hit by a car while Trick-or-Treating on dark roads.

Remember: When trying to figure out your trick or Treat schedule... You can have an Alburtis or Macungie address but actually be in LOWER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP. Best to double check if you are not sure. The Borough of Macungie is the town of Macungie. Alburtis Borough is the town of Alburtis. 3 seperate local gov'ts and 3 seperate trick or treat schedules! If your confused or not sure post below and I can help you figure out what muni you live in.

Someone just asked about Brookfield and Ridings. These are in MACUNGIE BOROUGH. Note: Most of the subdivisions are in the township. But not all. This is one subdivision thats in the borough.

Here's the easiest way to tell if you live in the borough or in the township:
If your house # has three digits, you live in the borough
If your house # has four digits, you live in the towship
eg: 320 Windsor Place is in the borough even though it is in the Ridings.

Having Trick or Treat in the Borough of Macungie tonight is the worst decision President Nagle could have made. Ninety percent of Macungie is still without power. Most residents are just concerned with taking care of their families and keeping them warm. There are no lights in the neighborhoods of Brookfield and the Ridings. Besides not having any lights on at our homes, there are no street lights. We are just trying to stay warm. How dare she be so insensitive to the people of this town. Some people have left their homes since power is not expected to return until late Sunday evening but now she just invited possible vandalism and burglary to our area since homes are unprotected and no power. She is putting the children of our town at risk. PP&L trucks are out trying to repair wires to return electricity to our homes. Please keep our families and children safe; postpone Trick or Treat to Saturday during the day.

Do we need to be reminded about the child who was killed in Upper Macungie while trick or treating and they had power! This is just another stupid decision made by our leaders! I was out last night around 7pm and it was very hard to see even with headlights on. The streets are pitch black besides branches and trees still laying around!

Agreed....poor decision, those that do go out please be extra careful, reflective clothing and lots of flashlights, and please don't touch or go near any wires, treat all wires as tho they are live wires.

We DID boycott! We are praying no child was hurt tonight because of Nagle's irresponsible decision!! How could Jean Nagle make such an incredibly STUPID decision that puts our children's safety at risk and all in the name of Halloween! A candy bar is more important!! What kind of individual would make such a decision!? This storm was a tragic one and the majority of our borough still without power, attempting to stay warm, repair damages, etc... Secondly, what lessons do we teach our children when the "responsible" individuals in positions such as council president are unable to get their priorities straight! Shame on Jean Nagle! When is her term complete?!

That'll go down as one of the worst decisions ever! What would the harm be to postpone to Sat aftn like the rest of lower macungie. You can't see a bloody thing without porch or street lights! Total stupidity!!!! Alburtis had theirs, but they HAD POWER !!!

It is almost like some members of macungie council are purposely trying to be the worst public servants ever. Maybe they are trying to get into the guinness book of world records for worst council or trying to get into ripley's believe it or not. I just hope they dont get anyone hurt or killed along their way there.
