'Vehicle Theft' Reported in Lower Macungie

Police say Barbie Power Wheels Jeep was taken from property.

It didn't take a "Slim Jim", screwdriver or even a hammer to break into a vehicle in Lower Macungie Township recently to snatch it away from its owner.

Instead, this motor vehicle theft was more likely of the grab-and-go variety.

The vehicle wasn't one that would be licensed for the road, but instead was a pink and purple Barbie Power Wheels Jeep that was intended for a child, according to state police at Fogelsville. The battery-powered toy that a child can ride was taken between 3:15 and 7 p.m. Nov. 8 from the home at 5601 Lower Macungie Road.

No value was provided, but an online search shows new similar vehicles costing in excess of $200.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-395-1438.

My 2 Cents

That is so sad! Who is the low life that thought this was okay? I worry about my kids power toys when left outside, but not as much in the daylight. I guess it was dark in part of the time frame given, but still very sad that someone would do that to a child. These things are not cheap. I hope someone in the area has a camera and caught this person on tape and they find who did it.

Bring your toys inside after playing and they won't get stolen. Simple.
