Freezing Rain Advisory Through 10 a.m. Saturday

Beware of icy roads.

The Lehigh Valley including Macungie is under a freezing rain advisory for light freezing rain from 7 p.m. tonight until 10 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

WFMZ said the storm could affect the Friday evening commute.

We could wake up to an icy glaze tomorrow.

The Weather Service says:

  • Scattered wintry precipitation today could begin between 6-9 p.m. -- possibly as a combination of light snow and sleet
  • Precipitation should become widespread overnight as light freezing rain/drizzle and continue into mid to late Saturday morning.
  • All untreated surfaces will become icy overnight.

Precipitation is expected to change to rain Saturday and rain could be heavy at times.

Sunday will be sunny and warmer with a daytime high in the 40s.
