What’s the Best Gift You’ve Received from Your Kids?

It’s Christmas day and the season of giving. Please share with us your favorite gift given by your kids – Christmas or otherwise.

Everyone on the Moms Council wishes you and yours a happy and healthy holiday season. May all of your dreams come true in the New Year.

This week’s Moms Talk topic relates to gifts from the children. Here's what we want to know:

What’s the best gift you’ve received from your kids? Share your thoughts and stories and, remember, you can upload photos too!

The best gift that I was given was a gift they made me with their own hands and surprised me. I love when the kids make something - even a card. They are usually very thoughtful with their gifts - but the homemade ones get much more special as they get older....its like bettering gold. LOL

My 7 year old daughter made us a 16x20 canvas painting of our family. Greatest gift I got this year!

My daughter made me homemade ornaments for the tree and wrapped them in homemade wrapping paper. Love it!

I agree with everyone on the handmade gifts. My older son (age 7) gave me a different kind of handmade gift this year. He made a present for Santa (Christmas tree ornament) because Santa works so hard and no one ever gives a gift to him. Santa left him a note and the ornament is on our tree now. Makes me so proud every time I look at it. And, the note from Santa has both boys gushing. One more year of innocence.

My daughter worked on an essay project about her Christmas memories with her 5th grade teacher, Mr. Hanlon, she read parts of it to us on Christmas Eve and it took everything in me to not cry at how special it was.....loved it.

Well my kids aren't really kids, 21 & 19 year old daughters. They are both in college and have had some struggles with grades and just adjusting to being young adults. They have had some things happen to them recently that were totally out of their control. Some crazy medical issues and their mother walking out of their lives. I do the best I can but girls, especially that age, need their mom.

Anyway....they both had very good fall semesters. I am hoping this gives them the confidence and push to move forward in a positive way with their lives.

That by far was my favorite gift that I received from anyone!

The best gift I received on Christmas was a 2 hour nap uninterrupted. Now that's a present.
