With Gas Prices "Crashing" Where's the Cheapest Gas?

U.S. gas prices have dropped 46 cents a gallon over the past two months.

Gas prices in the United States have dropped by 10 cents in the last three weeks, according to the Lundberg Survey of fuel prices, which was released Sunday.

The Associated Press reports that the average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline was $3.38.

In Macungie and Lower Mac, the cheapest places to fill up your tank Monday were Turkey Hill on Main Street and both Wawas in Lower Mac -- Hamilton Blvd. and Willow Lane -- all offering $3.50 a gallon.

Prices were considerably lower in New Jersey, with gas stations there charging $3.20 a gallon, according to figures from MapQuest.

Trilby Lunberg, publisher of the Lunberg Survey, told CNN the drop in prices was due to problems at refineries being resolved, as well as a seasonal drop in demand for gasoline.

The CNN report notes that the cost of gas is still -- on average -- 8 cents higher than this time last year.

I don't care if it's a few cents more expensive but I will always fill up at the Shell on Brookside and Lower Mac. "Brookside Deli"... The staff is always friendly and courteous, the owner takes pride in making the location look nice, the food is good... and to boot shell gas is known to be high quality.. Maybe it's just in my head but I swear I get slightly better gas mileage with "branded" gas vs. Wawa.
