Outage Leaves Hundreds in Lower Macungie Without Power

Did you lose power in Lower Macungie Wednesday?

More than 1,200 Lower Macungie residents were without electricity Wednesday afternoon, according to PPL.

The utility's website showed 1,217 power outages as of 12:48 p.m.

"We're in the Trexler Plaza and half the shopping center is with out power," the business Healthy Alternatives posted on the Lower Macungie Patch Facebook page. "Apparently Trexler Mall is without power and there are Fire and Ambulances there...have no idea what's going on."

PPL Spokesman Joe Nixon said crews determined the outage was caused by a problem with an underground cable near Lower Macungie Road and Route 222.

The outage map showed all customers in the township had been restored by 4:30 p.m.
