Brew Works has become a well-known brand in the Lehigh Valley. Three establishments share the name and family ownership. Unlike Brew Works Allentown and Brew Works Bethlehem, which make their home in the heart of their respective downtown districts, is nestled within the confines of the Allentown Municipal Golf Course. That makes the sweeping views from the dining room and patio as much of an attraction as the food and beverages.
Brew Works on the Green is open to the public whether or not they are patronizing the golf course. As a natural extension of its setting, this location offers one thing the other two don’t: breakfast. When better to enjoy the verdant scenery than in the daytime hours? Breakfast service begins at 9:00 a.m. (earlier during golf season) with omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes and French toast.
Lunch and dinner are available seven days a week, and late-night bar service extends after the kitchen closes. A broad selection of Brew Works’ own beers (brewed on site in Allentown and Bethlehem) is always on tap. The place also carries a seasonally changing assortment of microbrews and a handful of domestic beers, as well as wine and cocktails.

The food is pub fare that complements a casual, relaxed dining experience. There are burgers and chicken grillers, and house specialties such as Fegley’s French Dip Fondue, pulled pork sandwich, beef or chicken cheese steak, fish and chips and a signature meatloaf platter (most about $8.50-$11.95). Appetizers include the ever-popular Buffalo wings, pizza, pierogies, chicken fingers and quesadilla, plus a hummus assortment served with pita wedges and beer-friendly soft Bavarian pretzels tossed with butter, garlic, parsley and parmesan. The pretzels come with a dipping sampler of what is a hearty course on its own: Brew Works’ beer and cheese soup—a blend of extra sharp cheddar and their Knuckleball beer.
The menu indicates dishes that are vegetarian options and those whose ingredients are beer-enhanced. Brew Works uses beef from Pennsylvania farms, and FreeBird chicken and turkey that is antibiotic and hormone free.
