Family:  Ellie is the mother of Chip and Becca, and the grandmother to eight.  Dennis said he is single, but taken.

Occupation:  Dennis retired from the Brookside Country Club after 27 years as a chef.  Ellie, also retired, was a tax officer for 15 years and a business manager for seven years.

Describe what you do.  “I started here about 20 years ago as a volunteer for the Wheels of Time,” said Ellie.  “”I saw a need last year for additional park volunteers, so this past year I also volunteered at the refreshment stand where I serve the food.  I got Dennis started 10 years ago.  He works at the refreshment stand as a cook.  We work for almost all of the events held at the park on weekends.  You get to meet a lot of different people.

“I enjoyed the park as a kid and it’s now a way to give back to the community what they gave me.  It’s also very rewarding and you get to see the programs and events going on.”

How can someone get involved with this group if they want?  “Just call the park office and they will find a spot for you.  Volunteers are always needed.”
