Five Family Events for the Weekend
We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.
Here are a middle school musical, a library book sale, a wood-working project, an Easter craft and pet photos with the Easter Bunny:
1. Julie Andrews would be proud.
Where/When: , 6299 Lower Macungie Rd, Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, April 2 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Lower Macungie Middle School Theatre presents “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” the Tony-award winning musical.
Pricing: $5 adults and $4 for kids and seniors.

2. One for the books.
Where/When: , 3450 Brookside Rd., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2.
Why Go: There should be lots of great bargains to be had at the library’s spring book sale. Plus, it benefits a worthy cause.

3. Far better than idle hands.
Where/When: The Home Depot, Saturday, April 2, 9 a.m. to noon, while supplies last. The closest Home Depot store to Emmaus/Upper Milford is at 1951 Glenwood Street SW, Allentown.
Why Go: Kids between the ages of five and 12 will get the chance to build a planter basket, just in time for gardening season.
Pricing: FREE
4. An egg-citing opportunity
Where/When: Participating Michaels stores, Saturday, April 2, 10 a.m. – noon. There are Michaels stores in Whitehall, Quakertown and Easton. Visit the Michael’s Web site to get specific store details.
Why Go: Kids ages three and up can decorate an egg in preparation for Easter.
Pricing: A $5 purchase of a 7-inch craft egg is required. While supplies last.
5. Only canines and felines need apply.
Where/When: Lehigh Valley Mall, Route 22 and Route 145, Whitehall, Sunday, April 3, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Why Go: Bring your dog or cat to the Lehigh Valley Mall to have a picture taken with the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny will arrive at the mall on Saturday, April 3.
Pricing: Depends on the photo package you select.
