Why Go: According to the LVH Web site, kid safety day is a chance to focus on keeping your kids healthy by exploring wellness activities with your children and learning more about the offerings of LVH. Activities will range from a virtual tour of the new children's emergency room and interactive games that teach kids about avoiding trauma/burn injuries to fitness classes and effective hand-washing demonstrations.

3. They’ll have a ball. Or two.
Where/When: Lower Macungie Community Center, 3400 Brookside Road, Saturday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m. to noon
Why Go: Open gym is a great way to let the kids run around and burn some energy in a clean, safe environment. Parents can either run around too, or sit in the bleachers and watch the action. There are built-in basketball hoops in the gym and the community center typically provides a rack of kickballs, basketballs and two giant (like three-foot diameter) green and black soccer balls.
