1. Phantom of the Opera

Where/When: Emmaus High School; Thurs. 7 p.m.; Fri. 7 p.m.; Sat. 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Why Go: Opening night got rave reviews for this elaborate and inspiring high school musical. Support the kids and the community, but the shows are NEARLY SOLD OUT.

Why Go: $15: All advance tickets have been sold, however, an hour before each performance about 12 overflow seats may be available and 15 minutes prior to curtain any tickets not picked up will be available.

2. Literary Lunch for Middleschoolers

Where/When: Emmaus Public Library, March 26, noon to 1:15 p.m.

Why Go: “Invisible” by Pete Hautman. There’s this neighbor guy who

is beyond cool. And the next door neighbor kid who doesn’t fit. But they are really good friends. Or are they?

Why Go: The first 15 registrants for each discussion receive a free copy of the book at the front desk.

3. Health and Fitness Fair (Junior League of the Lehigh Valley)

Where/When: Velocity Sports Performance Center, 250 Cetronia Road, Allentown, Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Why Go: Fun and interactive family fitness activities and prizes! Free wellness screenings, free smoothies for the kids, free golf simulation and analysis for dads, free demonstration on how to start a container garden for moms, and free karate demonstrations for everyone. When Ferrous the Iron Pig mascot arrives, it’s a party!           

Pricing: Did I mention that it is all free? 

4. Story Fusion Festival ()

Where/When: Northampton Community College, Lipkin Theatre & Kopecek Hall; Friday through Sunday.

Why Go: Hone your skills as a teller of your own stories. This three day festival includes workshops that will help you create a portrait of your life, construct a family genealogy and develop interview techniques that will help you construct your family story. Storyteller Hannah Harvey will perform “Out of the Dark--Appalachian Coal Mining Stories” to demonstrate the artform and its techniques.

Pricing: Tickets are $10 for Friday or Saturday evening, and $35 for all day Saturday. Sunday admission is free.

5. Sisters Keeper (Economic and Personal Empowerment Women's Conference)

Where/When: Holiday Inn Conference Center, 7736 Adrienne Drive, Breinigsville; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Why Go: Gain insight, encouragement and support from women who have already paved the way to manifesting their hearts' desires and succeeded in reaching their highest goals. Featuring guest lecturer Debrena Jackson Gandy, an award-winning speaker and transformational mentor.
