Get Out: Five Things to do This Weekend

Patch is coming to the rescue. We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time.

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 12 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 13 at the Ice House on Sand Island, 56 River St., Bethlehem.

Why go: Twenty-five antique dealers from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland present American Country Antiques, will offer a variety of items, including quilts, textiles, pottery, primitives, and more. And all proceeds benefit WDIY, Community Public Radio, 88.1 FM, the NPR station member for the Lehigh Valley.

Pricing: Admission is $7. Parking is free.

2. Parade of Shamrocks

When/Where: 2:30 p.m. March 12 in downtown Bethlehem.

Why go: Because St.Patrick's Day is next week you can see Irish dancers and floats and hear bagpipes! And when the parade ends, there's a five-hour party to celebrate in the Grand Pavilion.

Pricing: Parade is free; Admission to the after party starts at $18.

3. Dog Sees God

When/Where: 7:30 p.m. March 9, 11 and 12; 4 p.m. March 10 in the Norman R. Roberts Lab Theatre in Kopecek Hall, Northampton Community College, 3835 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem Township.

Why go:  Because everybody wants to know how Charlie Brown would have grown up.

Pricing: Free with a donation of canned goods for a local food bank and/or a minimum $5 donation to the Norman R. Roberts Theatre Scholarship Fund.  Reservations are suggested.

4. Spring Craft Fair

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 12 in the Spartan Center, Northampton Community College. 

Why go: Because you need to find goodies for those Easter Baskets!

Pricing: General admission, $2;  Over 55, $1, Children 12 and under are free.

5. The Gov. Wolf Historical Society's 3rd Annual Antique Show

the Governor Wolf Historical Society Park, 6600 Jacksonville Road, Bath.

Why go: Because it's still too cold to spend the whole day outside and this show offers 30 booths featuring 18th, 19th & early 20th century American, English, primitive & period furniture and accessories showcased in two stone buildings, some in period room settings.

Pricing: Pay $6 Saturday and it covers Sunday, too.
