More Snow Likely in Macungie on Tuesday

More snow is likely in the Macungie area on Tuesday, according to the latest weather forecasts. The storm could be poorly-timed, affecting the area during the morning rush hour.

More snow is likely in the Macungie area on Tuesday, according to the latest weather forecasts.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for parts of eastern Pennsylvania, including the Lehigh Valley for Tuesday. It calls for two-to-four inches of snow to fall during a three-to-six-hour period, beginning at 5 a.m. The snow will end, the NWS says, between noon and 3 p.m.

The Eastern PA Weather Authority said in a Facebook post Monday morning that heavy snow bands from the fast-moving clipper system could set up across the Lehigh Valley, with "very poor timing for schools and the AM rush."

The EPAWA cited the possibility of 2 to 4 inches of snow in a weather map posted on its website.

Over the weekend, a major winter storm dumped more than half a foot of snow and sleet on much of the area, resulting in difficult travel conditions and event cancellations and postponements.

According to the NWS forecast, Tuesday's snow is likely to begin after midnight.

Tuesday's snowstorm would be the third to affect the area within a week's time.
