On Friday, an area of low pressure will lift northeast towards New England with a warm front moving through in the morning followed by a cold front in the late afternoon and evening.  Showers and thunderstorms can be expected with very heavy downpours, wind gusts over 40 mph, frequent lightning, and visibility below 2 miles.   Winds will veer to the south at 5 to 15 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 60's.  High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 70's over Long Island and lower to mid 80's throughout the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas.
