The Spirit of May Fills Alburtis' Lock Ridge Park

The 30th annual Lock Ridge May Day festival brought dancing and good cheer.

The sun shone and the warmth of spring filled the hearts of hundred of guests who attended the 30th annual Lock Ridge May Day festival on Sunday. filled with onlookers for the spectacle, headed once again by Faith Andrews.  The day was filled with archers in green, dancing gypsies, capering jesters, and appearances by King Henry and Merlin.

At the end of the performances, Alburtis Mayor Robert Mader proclaimed the day as Jean Stoneback day, in memory of the former Alburtis resident who passed away last year.  Members of the cast unveiled a pussy willow tree and dedicated it in loving  memory of Jean Stoneback, storyteller and a woman who represented the heart of her community.
