Vera Cruz Celebrates 60 Years at Homecoming

The 60th annual celebration will be held today in Mystic Chain Park.

Music, “Uncle Jeffrey,” classic cars, cake walks, lots of food, and more will be featured at the 60th Annual Homecoming of Vera Cruz. It will be held 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, rain or shine at ; however, the day’s activities begin at 9:30 a.m. with a homecoming service held at the , led by the Rev. Robert Klersy.

Mopar Madness of the Lehigh Valley will display some classic cars at the event to benefit Dream Come True.

Some special activities include raffles, a coloring contest for kids, a bake sale and a free hot dog for anyone wearing a homecoming T-shirt from previous years.

The day's entertainment begins at noon with “School’s Out.”  This is a new band in the Lehigh Valley that plays a variety of music, from doo-wop to Motown to today’s hits. The group will have the stage until 3 p.m., when Uncle Jeffrey will begin his live broadcast of his weekly “Health and Happiness Show” until 5 p.m. “CrazyHeart” will round out the evening from 5-9 p.m. with a bit of foot-stompin’ country music.

The homecoming is sponsored by the Vera Cruz Community Association.
