Warning: Flash Flooding Possible Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Lehigh County for Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for southeastern Lehigh County, including the Macungie area. That warning is in effect until 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.

A flash flood warning means that flooding is happening or about to happen.

More than two inches of rain came down in about an hour on Wednesday morning -- prompting the upgrade from a flood advisory to a flood warning -- and there’s still potentially more rain to come.

An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain is still possible in the warned area, according to National Weather Service forecasts.

In addition to our area, the warning covers northwestern Bucks and south central Northampton counties.
