Find the perfect Wedding Venue.

Some of our favorite tips for finding the perfect venue. We love helping couples with this choice since it's easily one of the most difficult and usually the first big (after setting the date!) decision.

1. VibeWhat will the vibe of your event be? Are you thinking laid back and informal? Elegant and classic? Looking for a rustic barn? The perfect outdoor location? Modern or Retro vibe? How about destination? These are the big questions.
Consider something totally unique like this ceremony on a moving train!

2. The nuts and bolts:
First and foremost what is your budget for the venue?
How many guests are you expecting?
Do you want to have both the ceremony and reception at one place?
Do you need onsite accommodations?
How many out of town guests?
What kind of Photos do you want?
This ties in directly to the choice of venue.

3. The Visit

Once you’ve drawn up your shortlist of venues that fit your criteria and vibe, you should setup a consultation and visit in person. Be prepared to spend some time doing this. Getting the venue right is critical. And make sure you visit multiple locations. Try not to fall in love with the first.

When visiting venues pay attention to small details, like how your guests arrive into the ballroom. Does staff keep doors closed beforehand to add drama? What is the setup for Cocktail hour will it be in the main ballroom or is there a pre function area. What will the flow be like?

Definitely discuss how staff orchestrates the wedding day. Are they open to your ideas and flexible with timings or are they rigid in the way that things have always been done?
