Valuables Stolen From Unlocked Vehicles in Macungie

There have been several thefts from vehicles recently in Macungie.

Sometime during Wednesday night into Thursday morning, two vehicles parked on Willow St in Macungie were entered.  A laptop computer and cash were taken from one of the vehicles and an iPod and ATM card from the other.

In both instances the vehicles were unlocked.  Police departments continuously offer the same tips to citizens in an effort to keep their property safe and prevent becoming a victim.  Those tips again hold true in the latest incidents.  We ask that first and foremost, do NOT leave valuables in your vehicles.  Take the time to remove items of value and take them into your homes.  Second, ALWAYS lock your car.  This holds true no matter where you are parked and whether or not valuables are in your car.

In addition, please call the police if you see or hear anything suspicious in your neighborhood

We constantly have people tell us that they didn't think something they saw or heard wasn't important or they did not want to bother us.  Please let us be the judge of whether or not something was important.  If something aroused your suspicions as a resident of a particular neighborhood, then it is certainly important enough to call us.  And, you are certainly not bothering us with your calls.  It is our job and that is why we are here.  Please allow us to provide the service that your taxes pay to have.
