Macungie faces serious budget talks in the coming weeks.
Council members have held two budget workshops so far and some difficult facts have come to light:
* Proposed expenditures for 2012 are 12.2 percent lower than they were for 2011.
* Revenues ishave decreased 23 percent -- $200,000 -- from last year.
* Collections of Earned Income Taxes have dropped 10 percent.
* Real Estate transfers are down significantly because people are not buying homes.
The next budget workshop meeting will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 in the auditorium of the Macungie Institute.
