"The Chief [Police Chief Edward Harry] came over and told us for sure that it was an earthquake and that it was all over the scanner," Nonnemacher said.

At Macungie Memorial Park, Amy Hillegass was alone in her office in Memorial Hall when she felt the earthquake.

"At first I thought there was a bear in the attic because I could see the ceiling tiles moving. Then I just got the shivers -- just like I did on Sept. 11, 2001.

"But when I looked out the window over by the pool, there was a father and son throwing a ball. They never felt it," she said.
