'Lunch Ladies' Dish Out Support for Union

East Penn School District is taking bids for food service providers. The difference this time is that the district is asking the bidders what it would cost if they bring their own workers in place of the 66 lunch ladies who now serve breakfast and lunch to East Penn students. The lunch ladies want to keep their jobs.

Several parents at Monday's meeting of the East Penn Board of School Directors say that Julian Stolz must leave the school board after Tweets he either created or circulated on Twitter.

Macungie PD Rolls Out New Patrol Car

The Macungie Police Department took delivery this week of a 2013 Ford Police Interceptor, a car built just for police officers.

'Jeopardy' Championship Features Emmaus High Grad

Laura Rigge, who graduated from Emmaus High School in 2010, competed this week in the college 'Jeopardy' championship in Los Angeles.

East Penn Superintendent Thomas Seidenberger said at Monday's school board meeting that he would like to see Lincoln Elementary get a new roof and have its playground resurfaced this summer. The plan is subject to the board's approval.
