I Got My Carpet Square...

It's back to school and back to our normal school year programs at the library!

Happy First Day of School to all East Penn students, parents and teachers! A nice rainy day to go back on, too! Maybe cuts down on the desire to be outside? I noticed driving in that this rain definitely feels more “fall-like” than “summer thunderstorm”! And Fall at the library also means a return to “normal” school year schedules here at the library! Regular storytime cycles and computer classes start this month, elementary school next month. This post's title is a familiar line to anyone who's been to storytime here, and I'm excited to be singing it again! So here’s a run-down of this week…

This week at the library:

Tuesday: 4 year old storytimes, 10:30am and 12:30pm. Advanced registration is required for storytimes, as there’s a limit to how many kids I can fit into the program room, plus advanced registration helps me prepare for the right number of kids… not ending up “short” or wasting craft supplies when people don’t show, and there’s an age cutoff date based on the East Penn School District. At this time, I still have spots in both 4 year old storytimes. Contact us if you’re interested.

Wednesday: 3 year old storytimes, 10:30am and 12:30pm. Again, advanced registration is required for storytimes, for the same reasons as above. At this time, the morning storytime is filled and the afternoon has a few remaining spots. Contact us if you’re interested.

Thursday: 2 year old storytimes, 10:30am and 12:30pm. This is the same as the 3s… both in advanced registration, reasons and current availability status. Contact us if you’re interested.

So, spots remain in both 4s, afternoon 3s and 2s classes. If nap schedules or preschool keep you from attending any time but the morning for those full classes, I never turn a kid away for a story, but please let me know ahead of time if at all possible if you plan to come… that way, I’m aware of cancellations and who may fit in, as well as trying to be more sensitive about telling kids to head back to the program room for craft when their might not be room. That said, to anyone who is signed up, please let me know as soon as possible if you won’t be attending a specific date so I can fill in with people who would like to come for that session. There is craft prep and money spent on every child that attends, ranging from a couple of cents to sometimes more on special occasions, so notice is a huge help! Next week, we’ll have some computer classes and PA German classes, so stayed tuned!
