Lower Mac Library Presents Fermata Nowhere, E-Book News

We've got a holiday concert tonight and we're getting close to OverDrive launching!! If you have an e-Reader, you'll want to see this!

I hope everyone’s enjoying the end of December, getting all your holiday to-do’s done and anticipating the time with family and friends! I hear there’s even talk of some white stuff on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day! For this week’s “This week at the library” we’ll go a little into next week because of the closings. So without further ado, here are some programs AND closing information!

This week at the library:

Monday: Fermata Nowhere Holiday Concert, 6pm. This program required  advanced registration and is FULL, so this is only a reminder to those who are signed up. Emmaus High School male a cappella group, Fermata Nowhere is going to dazzle us with some holiday tunes! Enjoy some amazing a cappella skills to get you in the holiday spirit! The concert will begin at 6:00, but we have full capacity signed up, so I'd suggest getting there early to get your seat! Especially so your family can sit together!

Book It Around the World! Gr.4-5; 6:30pm. This is our regular school year program for elementary school age kids in grades 4-5. In our “Around the World” theme, we’ll travel by continent across the globe and his month, we’re in Asia! We’ll hear stories from Asian traditions and then do an activity.

PA German classes at The Hills at Lockridge Rec Center, 7-9pm. This program is FULL, so this is a reminder for those of you who’ve already registered. This is the LAST class, so congratulations!!

Wednesday:  Winter Break drop-by storytimes, 10:30am and 12:30pm. Every Wednesday through December 28th, we’ll be switching from our normal “cycle” schedule to drop-bys. We know the holidays are busy, but we still wanted to give those of you who could make it an opportunity to hear stories! It’s great, if you can make it, so that we can keep kids in the routine!  No signup required.

Saturday: The Library is closed.

Monday (12/26): The library is closed.

Tuesday (12/27): The library re-opens.

So because of the closings this week, remember if you want any books, movies or music before the holidays, you have to stop in by Friday at 5pm!

Also, I posted this news on our Facebook page earlier last week, but in case you missed it, we are *this close* to launching OverDrive! The Director, Assistant Director, Reference Librarian and I are all doing some training tomorrow, and then the rest of staff on Wednesday so we can answer your questions, but if you have an e-Reader or are getting one for the holidays, this is exciting news! I own a Nook and actually just got my first e-book through Philly Free Library (which you can do, too! You can use our collection AND theirs for a larger book selection to browse!) If this is all new to you or you have any questions what OverDrive is about, feel free to comment and ask or contact us at the library. And as always, please let us know if you have any questions on any programs or other services! Have a great week!
