Santa Claus Came to Town!

Santa came to the library last week, and that's just the first of some holiday events at the library!

How is it already mid-December?? But it must be, because I stood in line to return something at Walmart in a ridiculously long line! And our holiday season at the library is in full swing as well! On Saturday, Santa came to the library! The children’s area was crowded with little kids waiting to see him, sit on his lap, take pictures and of course he had a little treat for them! All after a story of course :)

And in one week, on Dec. 19, we’ll have Emmaus High School’s talented a cappella group, Fermata Nowhere (so contact the library for details on the 6 p.m. show, NOW! There’s already over 60 signed up to attend!) But before we get there, let’s look at this week at the library!

This week at the library:

Monday: Book It Around the World! Gr. 2-3; 6:30 p.m. This is our regular school year program for elementary school age kids in grades 2-3. In our “Around the World” theme, we’ll travel by continent across the globe and his month, we’re in Asia! We’ll hear stories from Asian traditions and then do an activity.

PA German classes at The Hills at Lockridge Rec Center, 7-9 p.m. This program is FULL, so this is a reminder for those of you who’ve already registered. After tonight, there’s only 1 more class, so you’re in the home stretch!

.Wednesday:  Winter Break drop-by storytimes, 10:30 a.m and 12:30 p.m. Every Wednesday through Dec. 28, we’ll be switching from our normal “cycle” schedule to drop-bys. We know the holidays are busy, but we still wanted to give those of you who could make it an opportunity to hear stories! It’s great, if you can make it, so that we can keep kids in the routine!  No signup required.

Friday: Baby Lapsit, 9:30 a.m., a “beginner storytime”/introduction to the library for children who were 11 months old or younger as of 9/12/11; advanced registration required.

Ones Storytime, 10:30 a.m.; a “beginner storytime”/introduction to the library for children who were between 12-23 months as of 9/12/11; advanced registration required.

I’ll repeat the announcement from last week… we’re trying to be a greener library and we’ve started sending email notices! So if you haven’t given us your email address yet, please help us keep our planet green and save some of the green (taxpayer money) for things like materials and programs!

Please contact us if you have any questions or would like more information on anything, and as always, we hope to see you stop in for a program OR to browse the collection! And enjoy a couple of pictures from Saturday’s Santa visit! Have a great week!
