This Week at the Library

We're into the final 2 weeks of the summer reading program! Check out what's going on this week!

I can’t believe it… we’re already heading into the final two weeks of the summer reading program for 2011!!! Where did the summer go? So get those books logged, come out for programs and don’t forget our pool party finale featuring DJ Jimbo from 3-6 and Rita’s around 4, thanks to Haffner & Associates, CPAs on Main Street in Macungie!

This week at the library:

Monday: Games from Around the World!, 6:30pm, ages 4-11. We’re continuing our “One World, Many Stories” by introducing families to some games children from around the world play. And we’re not talking video or computer games! Come learn some new ones for your next picnic or party. Pre-registration required.

Tuesday: Tale-Tellers program at 10am for kids entering grades K-1 in the Fall, Word-Painters program at 12pm for kids entering grades 2-3 in the Fall, and Yarn-Spinners program at 2pm for kids entering grades 4-5 in the Fall. Pre-registration required.

Wednesday: Travel-Time Storytime at 10:30am or 12:30pm. Drop-by storytime (no signup required) storytime for kids who were in the 2s, 3s or 4 year old storytime or finished Kindergarten this past school year.

Read the Book, See the Movie: Eat, Pray, Love at 6pm in the Gazebo. Adult program to discuss the book and movie based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s memoir. We will not be showing the movie; please watch ahead of time, but we will be serving popcorn and drinks as we discuss. Please contact the library for registration details.

Friday:

Baby Lapsit, 9:30am, a “beginner storytime”/introduction to the library for children who were 0-11 months old as of 9/12/10; advanced registration required.

Ones Storytime, 10:30am; a “beginner storytime”/introduction to the library for children who were 12-23 months old as of 9/12/10; advanced registration required.

Saturday: Safari So Far storytime, 10:30am. A storytime for children who were age-eligible for the 2, 3 or 4s storytime or kindergarten this previous school year. We’ll be off on safari, hearing some stories and doing a craft. Pre- registration required.

Finally, to anyone signed up for the Finale at the Pool on 8/15, those who requested pool passes and were within the first 75 children signed up, we’ll begin distributing pool passes this week, so check your email to see if you will receive them. If you haven’t signed up yet, there’s still time to!
