This Week at the Library

This week at the library, a staff development day on Friday and a Father's Day Daddy and Me storytime on Saturday!

The summer is officially about to start! East Penn students have their last full day today and a half day tomorrow and then the 2012-2013 school year is officially in the books!

We give them a little time off before starting summer reading programs on the 24th, and we also take a break from computer classes, so this week is pretty slow. Next week will be, too. And then two weeks from today, we’ll kick off all the summer fun!

Stop in this week if you haven’t already signed up for summer reading. We’ve already gone to waiting list for the entering K-1st and Saturday storytime programs and have about kids signed up for our kickoff event, so make sure you join the fun! Ai Orthodontics is sponsoring Rita’s for our Kickoff event on June 24th, and DJ JIMBO is providing the music. (Haffner & Associates, CPA is providing Rita’s for the Pool Party Finale, and Bar None Weddings & Entertainment is providing the music.)

Friday: Library CLOSED for staff development day.

Saturday: Daddy and Me Storytime, 10am. Kids ages 2-6 can come with dad for some special Father’s Day stories and a (simple!) craft. Please contact the library for details!

As you can see, the library will be closed on Friday as we have a staff development day on safety in the library. No items were given due dates for Friday, so if you checked any books out three Fridays ago or movies last Friday, enjoy the extra day!

There’s information on the online activity calendar about summer reading if you want to see what’s going on, as well as on the Parents tab off our Kids Homepage. That’s where you’ll find the link to sign up and track books online for the reading incentive program. If you’d prefer to track on a print log in the library, those are available in the children’s area with the rest of the signup sheets.

Also, stay tuned next week for my annual posting about High School Required Reading tips!

If you have any questions on programs or the library in general, please stop in, call or visit our website!
