Okay, I missed last week with the New Year, but it was a busy week! In case you haven’t heard, !! We are so excited about this new collection and we hope you’re just as excited. So check out the Carbon Lehigh Downloadable Library. We hope to beef up the collection as time goes on, so don’t worry if you don’t see everything yet! Keep posted on our Facebook page, because we’ve already posted an answer to an FAQ and our idea is to continue to post answers like that as they come up. But if you have any other questions or you’re having problems and the OverDrive “Help” isn’t helping… let us know! And now on to the normal schedule post!
This week at the library:
Monday: Book It Around the World! Gr.2-3; 6:30pm. This is our regular school year program for elementary school age kids in grades 4-5. In our “Around the World” theme, we’ll travel by continent across the globe and his month, we’re in Australia! We’ll hear stories from this country continent and then do an activity.
Tuesday: 4 year old storytimes, 10:30am. Advanced registration is required for storytimes, as there’s a limit to how many kids I can fit into the program room, plus advanced registration helps me prepare for the right number of kids… not ending up “short” or wasting craft supplies when people don’t show, and there’s an age cutoff date based on the East Penn School District. At this time, I still have a few spots in the 4 year old storytime. Contact us if you’re interested.
Wednesday: 3 year old storytimes, 10:30am and 12:30pm. Again, advanced registration is required for storytimes, for the same reasons as above. At this time, there is a spot or two left in the morning and a couple in the afternoon if you’re interested. You can always come for stories, but wouldn’t be guaranteed a spot in the craft.
Computer Basics 2 Class, 5-7pm. We’re switching up the computer classes, offering some at night for people who work during the day. The classes require a $5 registration fee due at the time of signup. And signup is required before the class!
Thursday: 2 year old storytimes, 10:30am and 12:30pm. Again, advanced registration is required for storytimes. At this time, the morning has one spot and there are a few spots in the afternoon session. Contact us if you’re interested.
So lots going on this week! Programs and eBooks! If you’ve checked an eBook out, hope you’re enjoying it! If you haven’t and you’re curious, let us know! And one last announcement before wrapping up this post, I’ve started a library Pinterest page with storytime themes! Parents and grandparents are always coming in asking for ideas for mystery reader or for their kids, so I’ve started with a handful of themes (and am open to suggestions), but I’m bookmarking books and crafts that fit a theme… that way, if you want to do a “Storytime To Go”, you can have at it!
And as always, we hope to see you in for a program or materials sometime this week!
