This Week at the Library: Looking Forward to Ben's Block Party!

Week 5 of Summer Reading programming at the library! And please take our 2012 Customer Satisfaction Survey and let us know how we're doing!

We’re starting Week 5 of the summer reading program already! It’s crazy to think of because there’s only three more weeks of programs (one week beyond that for kids to count books!) before we’ve put another Summer Reading Club in the books! Last week we had a couple of teen book discussions that were lots of fun. This week is a normal summer roundup of programs, with the exception of the library’s participation at Ben’s Block Party on Saturday, which will be at Memorial Park. Come together with the community and join us at the event for a good cause! Miss Erin will be doing storytimes at various times during the Block Party!

This week at the library:

Monday: Let’s Go Camping! 6:30pm; ages 3 and up with a grown up; signups required. Tonight we’ll be reading stories about a summer pastime: camping! We’ll do an activity and maybe a “campfire” treat! Come out as a family for a few books and then a craft!

In a few non-event link “round-ups”… In case you missed it last week, we launched our new teen blog series, “Future Me”, with an interview of WFMZ/Channel 69 Sportscaster Jim Vaughn. So check out more details on the series on the blog. This week, we plan on getting out some of the Required Summer Reading posts for the second series we’re doing, “Summer Reading is Killing Me”. And we just posted a new 2012 Customer Satisfaction Survey on our website and Facebook pages. Please take a few minutes to tell us how you use the library and what you may be interested in us offering or expanding and you’ll be entered into a raffle for a great prize!

Just as a reminder, you can sign up for any of the three Reading Incentive Programs at any time through August 11, and please continue to update your logs If you have any questions on Summer Reading for the kids, please check the Parents tab of the Children’s Homepage or our online program calendar for more information and stay tuned through our Facebook page for up-to-the-moment announcements! We hope to see you in sometime soon at the library!
