This Week at the Library: Santa!!!!

This week at the library, there are plenty of drop-by storytime options, including Saturday's visit by Santa!

This week we’ll have one of our favorite programs of the year: the Santa visit! I get to don the elf costume and become Elf Erin, we read some Christmas stories and then the jolly big guy makes his appearance. I know the kids really just want to see Santa… and what he brought them… but I have to say I’m pretty excited about the book I’ve been holding onto for this visit. Pete the Cat Saves Christmas will debut this weekend!

I read a few of the Pete the Cat books at the drop-by the day we reopened following Hurricane Sandy and there were 70-80 kids between two storytimes (plus parents!) receiving some much needed comic relief as we laughed and sang along to the famous black cat. Seriously, if you have a child in 2nd grade or younger, chances are, you have heard about Pete. If not, he’s on YouTube! So come by for the visit on Saturday… and if you show up a few minutes early, you can snag some free coffee from the library Board!

Santa Visit and Storytime, 11am, ages 2-9. Come see Santa when he visits the library and hands out a small treat to all the kids! We’ll read some stories… and then we’ll visit with Santa! No signup required.

So there’s a lot of children’s storytime opportunities this week, including many that don’t require signups, between bedtime booktime, the winter drop-bys and Santa’s visit. Please contact the library if you have any questions or you’d like more details, but we hope to see you sometime this week!
